Easyjet to Fez?!??!

We have recently received a comment on a post regarding direct UK flights to Fez. John (anonymous - no email address given) had spent 30 minutes hassling Easyjet and apparently was told the Gatwick route, previously serviced by GB Airways, now part of Easyjet, will be reinstated in April.

Lets hope this is confirmed by the big orange bird carrier soon.

Please let us know if anyone else has heard this rumour.

Hi all
I myself a recent Brit who has bought in the glorious medina have written two emails and talked to easy jet and BA on the phone.

My email question to easyjet

"Hi Do you have any plans in the future to pick up the GB airlines flight to Fez"

response from Easy Jet was:

"Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, we do not operate flights to Fez, but, our nearest destination would be to Marrakesh from London Gatwick. For more information about flights to Marrakesh i.e., flight times and prices, please visit www.easyJet.com."

I got cross emailed them again same question. Second time the response was:

"Thank you for your email suggesting that we operate a route to Fez.

I am sorry that i didn't answer your question clearly earlier today.

As you know, easyJet do not fly to Fez at present but it may be taken up again at some point. We are always grateful for comments and suggestions from our passengers and are constantly looking for routes that would be in demand all year round"

I have to say this sounds slightly better and more positive but still with no definite yes.

I got the general impression, someone will have to pick this route up, be it Royal air Moroc, Easy Jet or Jet 4 You, hopefully soon. I am currently getting there by plane to Paris ORY then Jet 4 You to Fez which is great, but on the way back to England there is no connecting flight/Eurostar back to the UK so either a coach back to London that arrives at six in the morning or wait till the morning for a flight. Any other suggestions?

Andy
